Abstract: This talk will start with a literature review on cold sintering of solid electrolyte and cathode battery materials. Cold sintering at temperatures < 300C allows a way to sinter unique composites. In the non technical portion, information about Murata Electronics North America, Inc. (a subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) will be shared. Bio: Seth Berbano is currently a Technology Marketing Specialist and previously was a Research Scientist at Murata. He got his B.S. in Materials Engineering from Iowa State in 2011 and received his Ph.D. from Penn State in 2016. He worked on low temperature processing of oxide and sulfide solid electrolytes with Profs. Clive Randall & Michael Lanagan. Seth was the first to publish on cold sintering of solid electrolyte ceramics and ceramic polymer composites for solid batteries. He’s committed to collaboration and teamwork and likes music and basketball.
